RE: Revisions
This past weekend I finally got a chance to see Transformers – Age of Extinction. After the film, as I sat in the darkened theater talking about the film with friends, the topic of skill was brought up. Specifically the skill required to create the amazing visuals we had just witnessed. In specific the transformation sequences. One of my friends was quick to interject that they couldn’t even imagine how to accomplish such a feat. I have watched breakdowns from the previous installments of the Transformers franchise, though I didn’t know exactly how, I was confident that given enough time and effort I could produce something close to something I had just seen.
I would venture that many other people have thought like I did, and endeavored to start their own projects. Some of these projects are lost in the abyss of never completed, others range in quality, and there are very few projects reach the caliber of work they are trying to copy. So, what happened in between the thought, and the final product? Revisions happened.
At some point everyone, no matter what they do, will need to revise their work. And that is great news, because it means you wont work on a project for hundreds / thousands of hours just to find out you cant do it. On the contrary the more you work on a project, the more revisions you make, the more you have the ability and skill to actually do your project.
