This is the final product of me testing out moving between software as I was working on a project. I worked back and forth between Maya and Blender creating the environment, and then finished up compositing the render in Photoshop.
The concept of the project was to create to create the mood of an environment that was clinging to life, and at the same time full of death. I mocked up a street that had long been forgotten, with streetlamps just barely powered. The rain created depth in the scene and draw the eye down each of the streets to see what was hidden in the mist.
As I reviewed the rough I saw how empty the sky looked. It needed something to break up the space, and add some visual interest. I settled on hanging wires would be the best option, they were dark and fit the mood of the scene.
